Wellness Wednesdays
A new initiative that we have introduced this term is Wellness Wednesdays. Learners and staff have been travelling to the East Worthing Community Centre on Wednesday afternoons to participate in community activities.
This has been a fantastic opportunity for learners to work together across all age groups and join in a range of team games and sports. So far we have done dance, football, obstacle courses and team competitions.
Cooking
Cooking is extremely popular at the Centre and we have introduced Food Preparation and Nutrition GCSE this year. So far our learners have made:
Garlic and rosemary bread rolls
Leek and potato soup
Cinnamon swirls
Spring rolls
Lasagne
Salmon and broccoli quiche
The Arts
We were extremely fortunate to have local artist, Madeleine de Angelis, visiting the Centre to deliver a portrait workshop for our Key Stage 4 learners. They created some amazing pieces in such a short space of time.
We took our learners to view one of our young person’s work at Worthing Museum which was displayed as part of an exhibition. His work was really diverse and highly creative!

Thank you to all parents and carers for your continued support. We were delighted with an article in the local newspaper recently which praised the outcome of our Ofsted Inspection.
We are looking for parents/carers who would be willing to help with fundraising so we can build an additional multi-purpose space in the garden for therapy sessions and mentoring. We have raised £9000 and need to double that in order to build a suitable space. Please can you email lucy.jackson@rbet.ac if you are willing to be involved in a fundraising team or if you know of any organisations that might make a donation.
We have an exciting week planned March 4th – 8th where a range of professionals and representatives from different industries will be visiting the Centre to discuss careers with our learners. Thanks to any parents/carers who have volunteered to participate.
