Children’s Author Visits Worthing

Sarah Siggs, the author of the children’s book ‘Mud Boy’, visited the Worthing Centre this week and donated several copies of her book. Sarah lives locally and was inspired to write ‘Mud Boy’ following the experiences of one of her children who was bullied whilst at school. The story focuses on a boy called Sam and gently evokes how it feels to be bullied and shows how talking to other people can help. ‘Mud Boy’ empowers children to see how they can change things for the better and the importance of learning to be kind and what to do if others aren’t. You can find out more by visiting the Mudboy Facebook Page which is overseen by the book’s illustrator, Amy Crosby. Sarah is active on Twitter @SSiggs.

Sarah was very impressed by the Centre and described her visit as “extremely emotional” knowing that this provision is now available for young people who are experiencing trauma from bullying. Red Balloon Worthing is extremely grateful for Sarah’s generous donation and looks forward to collaborating with her in the future.
