Location: Kings Road, Reading

Hours: Full time 8:30am – 4:30pm or part time hours as agreed

Salary: £22,880 (pro rata)

Summary of role

As a Student Support Assistant you will play a key part in working towards the objectives of Red Balloon Reading to support students to re-engage with learning and life, and to access the future education, training or employment pathways of their choice.

The aim of the Learner Centres is the recovery of bullied and traumatised children. The means by which this is done is by enhancing students’ self-esteem, encouraging them to make decisions and gradually take control of their own learning to build their self-confidence, helping them to understand themselves and others, and providing a safe environment.

You will be expected to participate fully in the social community of Red Balloon in order to aid the recovery of all students. participate fully in the social community of Red Balloon in order to aid the recovery of all students. The postholder will support young people in numeracy, literacy, and science. You will also support students who may require one-to-one support in design tech, art, humanities, physical education or food tech.
