Red Balloon Exam Results 2024

Students at Red Balloon are celebrating another great set of exam results today. Across Red Balloon over 95 students entered GCSE and other qualifications this year. In English Literature, 100% of students achieved grades 4-9, and in Biology an amazing 70% received grades 4-9. From English, Maths and Science to Art awards and project qualifications, students have been making strides!

Red Balloon Founder, Carrie Herbert, could not be more proud of their accomplishments.

“We congratulate each and every one of the young people who sat their GCSEs this summer and who collected their results today. We are so proud of you. Well done to you all.

Although, of course, the results are important, for Red Balloon it is the recognition of the long and difficult journey our students have taken to get to where they are today and then celebrating their whole achievements that is important. Sitting exams requires focus, confidence, resilience, let alone the academic knowledge, skills and understanding of the syllabus of each particular subject area.

Many of our students, when they first enrolled with Red Balloon, were housebound, devastated by what they had experienced at mainstream school, frightened and suffering from poor mental health and had self-excluded from school and retreated to their bedrooms. Over a series of weeks, months and in some cases years, our team of dedicated teachers, mentors, therapists and support staff have helped each student take their first shaky steps outside their home and led them to making strong and purposeful strides as they stand at the threshold of the next stage in their lives with their GCSE qualifications tucked under their arms.

We look forward to expanding our Red Balloon network so that we can help even more young people become able to make a positive contribution to society.

“Together with the staff across the Red Balloon family, I wish all our students the best of luck in the next stage of their life’s journey. Keep in touch, tell us of your next achievement, whatever it may be: finding a job, going to university, starting an apprenticeship, getting married, or being promoted. We are always interested to see where our students go.”
