We would like to say a massive Thank You to all who came to our Open Garden event. It was a wonderful weekend. The weather just about stayed on our side, a steady stream of visitors came to explore, a very large pile of cakes and tasty treats we’re satisfactorily demolished, and of course the honey bees gently worked away throughout.
This year’s garden was awash with colour and greenery, the scent of the flowers spilling out onto the pavement and luring people inside (if you’re wondering which roses smelt best, we have to throw Lady Shallot from the front garden into the ring as our particular favourite!), and delightful music drifting in on the wind from the nearby Cambridge Town and County Fair.
Over the course of the weekend a whopping 635 people popped into the garden, that’s our largest number of visitors yet! We saw a number of regular faces (some have been coming for years!), as well as plenty of new faces stopping in for the first time.We enjoyed meeting everyone who stopped by for a chat and some cake, and we’re so proud that you raised a record breaking £3,351 with your generous donations.
