Opening Day Success
Red Ballon of the Air had their opening event for their community shop on Tuesday, 10th of October, and it was a massive success!
‘We had quite a few people stop and ask about Red Balloon and what we do, and had a few people in need of our services so the event had a two-pronged purpose for us,’ said Christina Smith, Assistant Headteacher. ‘It was a fantastic way to network with parents who see a need for our provision, and also paved the way for our young people to get a supported work experience.’
Although profit is important, with an impressive £160 taken in just four hours, the most valuable aspect of the day was the work experience for the students. Not only is RBAir providing well-priced clothing and goods to an area that really needs it, but it’s also an opportunity for locals to donate to a worthy cause. The shop is a place for connection in the local area, and we can’t wait to see how things progress next week!
Weekly opening hours
Tuesdays during term time 10am- 2pm
RBAir will be in the shop weekly during term time on Tuesdays from 10am to 2pm, so you can pay us a visit during these times to support RBAir and our students in their work experience placements.
Or you can pop in on other term-time weekdays between 10am and 2pm when Castle School are running the shop!
