Who is Red Balloon of the Air?

Red Balloon of the Air (RBAir) provides academic and therapeutic programmes for young people aged 11 -21 who are unable to access mainstream schooling. Students are encouraged to make decisions and gradually take control of their own learning, thereby building their self-confidence so that they can return to appropriate mainstream, specialist education, training or employment.

The students at RBAir often join the programme following difficult experiences with peers, education or health professionals, and/or their families. Many students have experienced mental illness. Students follow a blended programme of online learning and face to face social interaction opportunities and support. Staff at RBAir aim to provide access to positive academic learning experiences alongside wellbeing support for students. Success in both is inextricably linked.
