Hours: 40 hours per week
Salary: £40,000 to £42,000 (pro rata) depending on experience

Please note that there are two Red Balloon Centres operating in Norfolk: this position is for the Centre RBET-Norfolk, located on Earlham Road.
Role:
Red Balloon is an award-winning charity that operates a leading-edge virtual learner centre. We offer academic, wellbeing and community support to transform the lives of students (aged 9-18 years) who want to learn but have had low rates of attendance at school due to high anxiety, severe bullying, trauma or chronic stress.
Red Balloon Educational Trust – Norfolk is seeking to appoint an outstanding practitioner to join our senior leadership team as Deputy Headteacher. We are looking for a dedicated leader who will work as part of our staff team to create a safe and supportive community for our young people and seek to provide the highest possible educational experience for them. We place the needs and the voices of our students at the heart of our work.
The person appointed will have responsibility for the quality of teaching and learning throughout the Centre.
The successful applicant will:
- be qualified to degree level in a specialist subject;
- have Qualified Teacher Status;
- be able to demonstrate experience of leading and managing staff successfully;
- have an understanding of whole-school issues and their implications for financial management;
- have the capacity to work with all staff to generate learning experiences that engage all students and enable them to work towards the next stage of their education;
- have experience of working as part of a senior leadership team;
- have the necessary inter- and intra- personal skills to build positive, warm, caring and professional relationships with all members of our community.

Red Balloon Norwich, which opened in 2006, moved location in 2022 and is currently located on Drayton Road. Red Balloon Norwich will not be able to answer any questions about the vacancy above as it is not for their Centre.
