Location: Milton, Cambridge

Hours: 32 – 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Contract type: 6-month temporary position, possibly to be made permanent

Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 depending on experience

Annual Leave: 30 days plus Bank Holidays (to be largely taken during school holidays to align with business needs)

Start Date: As soon as possible

Summary of Role

Red Balloon of the Air helps young people between the ages of 11 and 19 who have self-excluded from mainstream school for various reasons, including Emotion-Based School Avoidance (EBSA).

This is a key role in contributing to the financial sustainability of the charity and improving our budgeting and reporting processes. Working with the Finance Director and the Accounts Assistants, you will contribute to the smooth running of the Finance function for the Trust.

This is a hybrid role: working from the Milton office 2 days a week initially, moving to fully remote working once settled in role, except for occasional onsite meetings.

Some key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Month-end and year-end accounting
  • Support cash flow management
  • Support budgeting and forecasting process

To be considered for this role as a minimum you will need:

  • Experienced in a management accounting role in a small/medium-sized organisation.
  • Professional certification (ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience
  • Proficient in Excel, confident IT skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
