Hours: Flexible hours, 1-1 ½ days per week.

Summary of the role

We are looking for an empathetic and friendly volunteer to support our group of young people in their face to face lessons. Due to operational requirements, on this occasion, we are specifically seeking a male volunteer to join our team.

Although this is not a single-gender group, our male cohort would greatly benefit from guidance and mentoring from a male volunteer to support their development. If you are a team player who is interested in the social development of young people, confident within a group and with the ability to work independently, this is the volunteer role for you!

Key Tasks:

  • Provide supervised 1-1 subject support to boost the confidence and provide an alternative view for a young person under the guidance of a teacher.
  • Assist teachers during group activities by interacting with the young people and carrying out ‘housekeeping’ tasks.
  • Provide support and gentle guidance for the group, particularly for the young people who may feel more comfortable with male support available.
  • Attend and support during trips, work experience or higher education visits.
