RBET – Norfolk Passes Ofsted Inspection

Following the inspection by Ofsted between 14th and 16th January 2025, we are delighted to announce that Ofsted has judged Red Balloon Educational Trust – Norfolk to be a GOOD school and that it meets all areas of the independent school standards.

We are extremely proud of this positive outcome, which is a testament to the care and commitment of our staff, the support of our families and of course, a celebration of the wonderful young people.

Visitors to the Centre often comment on the calming and welcoming environment we have created for our young people. The Ofsted report captured that ‘the warm, homely environment further helps pupils to feel comfortable and secure’ and we agree that this essential approach enables our students to make good progress socially, emotionally and academically.

Ofsted also commented on the ‘positive atmosphere around the school’ and the ‘strong relationships’ that our students form with staff and each other, and we feel this ethos is a significant strength in supporting them to feel safe and secure:

‘Kindness and nurture underpin everything that happens here. All of this builds the trusting relationships that have created the positive ethos that permeates the school.’

The report identified that there are areas for improvement, and these are being addressed as part of the Centre Development Plan. We are working hard to ensure assessment informs and adapts our students’ learning across all areas of the curriculum, sensitively and appropriately considering and addressing gaps in learning.

We are pleased that Ofsted has recognised the strengths and the progress that has been made so far. You will be able to read more about the inspector’s judgements in the attached report, which will also be published on the Ofsted website.
