Red Balloon is a network of six organisations.

We have our ‘bricks and mortar’ Centres in Cambridge, NW London, Norwich and Reading; alongside our online and face-to-face service, Red Balloon of the Air (RBAir).

RBGroup provides the underpinning strategic and organisational development for the network. This means that staff in the Centres can focus on what they do best – teaching, therapy and mentoring.

Each Red Balloon is an independent registered charity operating under an ‘Association’. Consequently, Red Balloon’s governance structure means that each entity is separate with its own Board of Trustees. These trustees have oversight and responsibility for the quality of organisational management in their own Centre.

We share a jointly held vision – that the vulnerable young people who need Red Balloon have the expert support necessary to flourish. So, with Red Balloon’s support they can regain a sense of well-being, re-engage with learning, develop their personal confidence, build relationships with others and go on to find their place in the adult world.

About Red Balloon Group

An essential role of RBGroup is that of ‘critical friend’ to our Centres and RBAir. In that capacity, our Director of Well-Being, Anna Kilby, and Director of Education, Rob Watson, work closely with colleagues throughout the Red Balloon Association. Because they are experienced leaders in education, they support the development of high-quality provision throughout Red Balloon, within the local context of each Centre.

The Directors get to know each Centre well so they can share their experience and provide support, advice and challenge in a shared pursuit of excellence. Consequently, through dialogue with Centre Leads, our Directors can identify best practice and disseminate across the Association, providing training, coaching and mentorship to ensure consistency across the network.

Other professional services we provide include HR and IT, marketing and fundraising. Our aim is to ensure Centres are equipped with the policies, procedures, support and resources they need.

We are based in Milton, alongside our RBAir colleagues. So on a normal weekday you’ll find us in among the throng of teachers, therapists and mentors make up our bustling office.
