We are the only charity in the UK set up specifically to recover bullied children and your help is vital.
Our Centres are always looking for furniture, educational equipment, musical instruments, garden tools etc. If you have any tables, chairs, sofas, cushions, curtains, bookcases, clocks or anything which you think may be of use, please contact your local Centre.
Many severely bullied children who do not have special educational needs slip under the radar of the local authorities because they are not disruptive or challenging. They are simply too frightened to attend school and often don’t make a fuss. Once off the school roll these children attract no funding. The Bursary Fund is used to help fund places for them at RB. It costs around £20,000 per year for a child to attend one of our Centres.
For an appropriate candidate, the Bursary Committee will grant a bursary that covers up to 50% of the fees. This will be augmented by funds that the local trustees and the Coordinator of the Centre or RBAir will find from a variety of sources, including the local authority, the school from which the child has come (which might contribute the AWPU or more), a parental contribution, individual donors or local charitable trusts.
A legacy left to a charity is exempt from inheritance tax and is probably the most tax-effective gift you can give. If you are interested in leaving a legacy to RB your Solicitor will be able to advise you of the exact wording to use in your will.
The funds donated to RB are used to support existing Centres. Once a Centre has a full complement of students it is self-funding with fees from local authorities and bursaries meeting staff salaries and running costs. The Trustees of each Centre raise additional funds locally to pay for extra resources (equipment, books, trips and specialist tutors that our students need).
