Before our students arrive, we want them to appreciate and be comfortable with the learning based community they are about to join. After an initial discussion, prospective students might attend a ‘taster day’ or two, so that they can see for themselves how a Centre operates and whether it is the right learning environment for them.
All our students agree to three conditions:
The taster day or days will be followed by a discussion with the parents or carers and a decision about what happens next – whether the student will be offered a place or be put on a waiting list, how the place will be funded, and how soon the student can start. If it is agreed that RB is not the best place for the student, advice will be given on the next steps the parents or carers can take.
Funds for a place at RB may come from the student’s school, the local authority or from a private source. It might be possible to obtain a bursary for up to half the fees.
